Our News Spring 2016

Thank so you so much for your continued prayers and support. We are so blessed to have so many standing with us.

We are doing well, and by God’s grace our health is good, aside from normal aches and pains. Which serve as an excellent reminder that we are only flesh and blood, and actually quite fragile. So we must lean on the Lord Jesus for strength and direction!

Hubby still teaches English to local children and adults.

And this is a wonderful door into the hearts and homes of the local people. And presents wonderful opportunities for sharing about the Lord.

As we have already stated, the folks here are religious and attached to their traditions. Yet they like hearing what we have to say about the things of God. And we have given out many New Testaments and Bibles.

Even the local priest has accepted a Bible from us, and we hope to have him to dinner in our home soon!

He is fairly young, about 45, and seemed genuinely pleased over the invitation! He doesn’t seem to get a lot of them. Please pray that the Holy Spirit would cause a real hunger for the truth in his heart and in the hearts of those he serves.

We’re enjoying springtime here; one of the most beautiful times of the year. Although this year it has been cooler than usual, getting down to 50-55° F (10-13°C) at night. But the days are getting longer and warmer, and we so love getting fresh air and sunshine in our little garden. We also try to take walks through town or in the country to stay fit. But sometimes time is short and commitments a mile long!

But we do have some sad (for us) news.

Our daughter and family are moving back to the USA in November. And our hearts are already breaking and starting to feel the ocean’s breadth. I don’t know how many times we have parted (long-term) from our kids, family, and friends through the years. But it never gets any easier. Only God’s grace gives us the strength to stay focused and keep on keeping on.

On a positive note, they will move back to the village for a few months before departing. We’ll try to focus on this small blessing and cherish the time we will have. Wit already 5 grandchildren already in the USA, it’s not easy. Our cry is, “God you are able. You are our Helper.”

But we are happy for them, and pray that this step is God’s will for them. We raised our kids saying, “Just obey God. And follow his leading, wherever.” So we are only reaping what we sowed. But we also reap the blessing of knowing that both our children and their spouses walk with God. And are raising their children to follow his ways.

We’ve missed many special moments with our kids. Seeing them start college, their first dates, getting engaged, our son’s wedding, births of the grandchildren. But through it all, we see God’s goodness. And we continue to see and live Matthew 19:29 in our hearts and lives. God is ever faithful. Please keep praying for us, as we do for you!

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life, (Matthew 19:19).

Thank you once again for your prayers, support, and friendship. You each have a special place in our hearts.

May you always rejoice in God’s presence and eternal love.
